Everything You Need to Know
Will my original tapes, photos, and film reels be returned?
Yes, 100% of your original items are returned to you in their original condition (and often repacked in cleaner archival sleeves). I treat family media with museum-level care.
What if a VHS tape is snapped or has broken plastic reels?
Don't discard it! In most cases, I can perform micro-splicing or transplant the magnetic ribbon into a fresh cassette shell for a small repair fee.
What resolution do you scan 8mm film and photos at?
8mm and Super 8 motion picture film are telecine scanned frame-by-frame in true 2K HD. Printed photos are digitized at 600–1200 optical DPI, and 35mm slides are scanned up to 4000 DPI.
How can my family view the files once completed?
I provide universal MP4 video and high-resolution JPEG/TIFF files. They play effortlessly on Smart TVs, iPhones, iPads, Android devices, Mac, and Windows PCs. You can also opt for physical USB thumb drives or Blu-Ray/DVDs.
How long does the digitization process take?
I strive for a 2–3 week turnaround, adjusted to current workload. Rush expediting (3 to 5 business days) is also available for memorials, anniversaries, or holiday gifts — just ask.
How does the pricing work if I'm not sure how many photos or reels I have?
Use my online estimator for an initial count. When your box arrives at my center, I scan and catalog every single item. I will email you an itemized inventory with the exact final price before beginning processing!
